This two night stay is available midweek or weekends out of season and is used for our competitions, and loyalty rewards program, and some charitable offers such as raffle prizes or donations to families going through a hard time as part of our strong social responsibility ethos.
The free stays need to be scheduled at a time to suit our existing group glamping weekends and day courses which usually are held on Saturdays and Sundays. This is why we have created a range of pre-defined date options below.
You can of course, during your free stay add on a paid activity from our website such as a private foraging walk, archery or craft session.
For the free stays we really like you to bring sleeping bags as we process all laundry in-house and the weekend laundry burden is already significant. If you don't have sleeping bags you can add on bedding/towel packs for £8 a person.
During your free stay you will have access to the full site and be the only residents. Logs and candles, shower gel, loo roll etc. all provided on a reasonable use basis.
Looking forward to offering you space to chill, connect over fire and be together in Nature.
This product here is only bookable by people who we have given the link to; our competition winners and charitable requests - it is not available for general public to book our free stays (obviously!), we can't 'hide' it from being found on the website while simultaneously sharing it to the groups that need to see it, so please understand we will triple check all applicants as to how they came to book this free stay :)
Causes we support:
- Families going through child loss or parent loss.
- Supporting victims of sexual abuse to recover.
- Local sustainability charities
If you are part of a charity that supports the above and would like a prize to help raise funds for your work OR if you want to apply directly for a free stay to have some quiet family time away from it all, please get in touch at hello@wildharvest.org
Established and Reliable
Established and Reliable
We have been around since 2006, one of the longest serving sustainable education businesses. We deliberately don't apply for grants so that we know we can keep teaching into tomorrow. Book us and we will be there. Proven track record of 100% turn up rate.
Affordable
Affordable
We believe this education should be accessible and aim to price to cover our costs and pay our taxes but also be affordable to you. Sustainable education should not be an elite subject but should be accessible to all. We are not grant funded though so please don't expect us to compete with free temporary initiatives using public money.
Sustainable
Sustainable
Since 2006 eco principles have been at the heart of what we do. It's not a new marketing angle for us; our courses are based upon the original values and lifestyle of our founder who has long lived a life of sustainability and self-reliance.

Some of our F.A.Q
Got a Question...?
Where are you based?
We are based in the rural outskirts of York, 12 miles from the city, but we.do work all over. If you are coming here for your glamping, activities or walks/course then we can be found on Google maps HERE
Can I Bring My Dog?
To the wild food walks yes, well behaved dogs on leads are welcome. To the tipi site... Sorry we love animals but we. have a free range sheep, hens and an old labrador. Plus we have a policy of no animals in the units to keep them feeling fresh and ok for allergy sufferers. We are down the road from Storwood Kennels if you need pet boarding.
What if I Can't Make It?
We know you wouldn't want us to cancel on you and hope that you see we book tutors, organise resources and block time out for bookings so we allow you to sell your space on, or gift it to a friend. Or we can offer you online courses and ebooks instead.
What Areas Do You Cover?
If you want to book us to come to you...Our radius for attended walks, courses and activities bookings is approximately from Newcastle in the North to Nottingham in the South, Hull in the East to Manchester in the West. if in doubt just ask in the chat box or enquiry form.
Why Choose Wild Harvest?
-
Long Established
We have stood the test of time. Established in 2006 we are nearly 20 years old! We have survived pandemics and recessions and are still here. Read our reviews as testimony to how hard we work to keep you happy! Others have come and gone but we are still strong through our professionalism, quality of service for the price, and resilience.
-
Support Female-Led Independent Small Business.
Wild Harvest was set up by a single mum of three... slowly building a business around her children, without any help. No grants, no Daddy's purse strings - just hard work and dedication and determination to provide affordable sustainable education.
-
Reliable - Book Us and We WILL Be There!
Over all our time we have not cancelled a single session. If we commit to being there we will be there. I cringe when I see other teaching businesses cancel for personal reasons regularly letting people down and I truly believe in honouring your booking with my effort to get us there.
