Hi, we hope you understand that our pricing is kept reasonable and designed to cover the cost of materials, tutor costs, taxes and platform fees.  Sometimes we are asked to work quite far away from our base outside York.  We love to come to you wherever you are, but we just can't afford to absorb eg. often four or five hours total drive time, fuel and parking fees (in cities these are mental!)  We also need to cover a tutors wage for the time they are travelling if a session is far out of our usual area.

If your group is choosing one activity or is of a group size where we just can't make the profit cover a pretty large travel charge we will ask for a travel contribution. Note this is per group and so usually ends up adding just a couple of pounds per guest to your total cost. To us, it means we are not eating into already small business profits. Thank you for your understanding.

You will by now have chatted to Di about your location; group size and the number of activities you wish to take and may have had a request to make a contribution towards travel.  Normally a group books their activities first then later, if agreed at the time of booking; you will receive the travel contribution invoice.

This here is where you can pay!  Like all our services you can pay your travel contribution by credit card, paypal, Apple or Google pay etc.

Simply select the Travel Contribution that was discussed with your booking below and check out. Please don't try to add one of our discount codes as they don't work at the local fuel station for us haha so won't work in this product.

Some of our F.A.Q

Got a Question...?

Where are you based?

We are based in the rural outskirts of York, 12 miles from the city, but we.do work all over. If you are coming here for your glamping, activities or walks/course then we can be found on Google maps HERE

or Apple Maps HERE

Can I Bring My Dog?

To the wild food walks yes, well behaved dogs on leads are welcome. To the tipi site... Sorry we love animals but we. have a free range sheep, hens and an old labrador. Plus we have a policy of no animals in the units to keep them feeling fresh and ok for allergy sufferers. We are down the road from Storwood Kennels if you need pet boarding.

What if I Can't Make It?

We know you wouldn't want us to cancel on you and hope that you see we book tutors, organise resources and block time out for bookings so we allow you to sell your space on, or gift it to a friend. Or we can offer you online courses and ebooks instead.

What Areas Do You Cover?

If you want to book us to come to you...Our radius for attended walks, courses and activities bookings is approximately from Newcastle in the North to Nottingham in the South, Hull in the East to Manchester in the West. if in doubt just ask in the chat box or enquiry form. We may ask for a fuel contribution if you are over 1 hour from us.

What are your min. and max group sizes?

Minimum Numbers: This really depends on where you want your session and how many activities - at Wild Harvest tipi site the min. number is six for one activity. If we are travelling to you, it would be 10/12 for one activity or 7 for two activities. We can always bend the rules and just add a 'travel at cost' charge later, after booking. This is usually just about £35 for the whole booking.

Max. Numbers: There is no maximum! We have a few tutors so if we deem your group to be in need of two tutors (this would likely be a group of over about 25) we can still do it, we will just bring more tutors :)

  • Long Established

We have stood the test of time. Established in 2006 we are nearly 20 years old! We have survived pandemics and recessions and are still here. Read our reviews as testimony to how hard we work to keep you happy! Others have come and gone but we are still strong through our professionalism, quality of service for the price, and resilience.

  • Support Female-Led Independent Small Business.

Wild Harvest was set up by a single mum of three... slowly building a business around her children, without any help. No grants, no Daddy's purse strings - just hard work and dedication and determination to provide affordable sustainable education.

  • Reliable - Book Us and We WILL Be There!

Over all our time we have not cancelled a single session. If we commit to being there we will be there. I cringe when I see other teaching businesses cancel for personal reasons regularly letting people down and I truly believe in honouring your booking with my effort to get us there.

  • Quality of Service Combined with Value For Money

Here you will find qualified thorough tutors, and natural, local materials yet we remain more affordable than our competitors due to our mission to provide sustainable education to ALL. This affordable quality in offering services that Don't Cost the Earth is what has kept us going for two decades!
